The unique flavor combination of dark chocolate and cayenne pepper is surprisingly easy to make and wonderfully decadent treat.
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Cocoa powder for rolling
Directions:
- Place the finely chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
- In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and butter over medium heat until it starts to simmer.
- Remove the cream mixture from the heat and pour it over the chopped chocolate.
- Let it sit for a minute to soften the chocolate, then stir until smooth and well combined.
- Add the cayenne pepper to the chocolate mixture and stir until fully incorporated.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for about 2 hours, or until it becomes firm.
- Using a small spoon or melon baller, scoop out portions of the chilled chocolate mixture and roll them into small truffle balls.
- Roll each truffle in cocoa powder to coat evenly.
- Place the finished truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for an additional 30 minutes to set.
- Serve the chocolate and cayenne pepper truffles as a delightful and slightly spicy dessert.
