The irresistible heat and cheesy goodness of Pepper Poppers and the ease in which it comes together make it these the go to appetizer to to spice up any gathering.
Ingredients:
- 12 jalapeño peppers
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 12 slices bacon, cut in half
- Toothpicks
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
- Cut each jalapeño pepper in half lengthwise. Use a spoon to remove the seeds and membranes, creating little jalapeno boats.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until well combined.
- Spoon the cream cheese mixture into each jalapeño half, filling them generously.
- Wrap each stuffed jalapeno half with a half-slice of bacon, securing it with a toothpick. Place the bacon-wrapped jalapeños on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the jalapeños are tender.
- Once cooked, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Note: If you prefer a milder version, you can remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeños or substitute milder peppers like mini sweet peppers.
